Whatever the illness, we’re with you to the end
Marie Curie is here to support everyone in the UK through all aspects of dying, death and bereavement – and to fight for a society where everyone gets to have the best experience possible at the end of their lives.
Marie Curie Nurses care for you in your home, when you need them most, day or night. Our hospices are at the heart of communities around the UK. And our trained volunteers and advisers are here for you with practical information and support when you don’t know what to do next or just need to talk. Alongside our information & support line, 0800 090 2309, which is available for free across the UK, for anyone who has experienced a loss or terminal diagnosis.
Help us support people just like you
Not only do we provide the NHS with frontline care, but we are also the biggest leader in palliative care research outside of the government. We explore better ways of caring for people with a terminal illness, that also includes partnering with university research labs. We campaign and influence decision-makers on important issues such as the current ‘No one should die in poverty campaign’ which recently got over 166,000 signatures.
20 is an important figure. It’s the age when the average Brit first suffers a loss of someone close to them. This means that sadly a lot of people are experiencing bereavement for the first time while at university. And we can be there to support them through those difficult times.
Currently, 1 in 4 people don't get the care and support they need. And the problem is growing, fast. People in the UK are living longer, with multiple and more complex health challenges. By 2048, the need for end-of-life care will have increased by up to 25%. Over the next five years and beyond, our mission is to close the gap in end-of-life care. With your help, we can ensure that we reach more people across the UK, and they get the essential support they need.

Still don’t know what charity to support?
If you’re still unsure of which charity to choose to support, that’s not a problem! We’d recommend getting in touch with each charity that you’d like to support. They’ll be able to discuss how they’ll be able to support you on your journey, and what your money will be going towards.
