VIEW FULL EXTENSION TRIP ITINERARY
DAY 1 - JUNE 16th: TRANSFER TO TAYRONA
You will set off in the morning to Tayrona National
Park, which covers the foothills of Santa Marta’s Sierra
Nevada as they meet the Caribbean coastline. Known
for its palm-shadedcoves, coastal lagoons and rich
biodiversity, this protected ecosystem is teeming with
wildlife. On arrival, you will have plenty of time to relax
and soak in the sights and sounds, before heading off
a spectacular afternoon kayak trip. Here you’ll gently
navigate your way down river, seeing and hearing
some of the local flora and fauna. You’ll be treated
to a magnificent sunset, before being picked up by
boat and taken back to your accommodation.
DAY 2 - JUNE 17th: TAYRONA NATIONAL PARK
Today, after breakfast, you will head to the Don
Diego River where you enjoy an instructed Paddle
board. Your guide will show you how to stand and
balance the board, while gently operating the
oar. You can stand, sit, kneel or even lie on the surf
board, as you navigate your way slowly down river,
observing howler monkeys, migratory birds and
local s until you reach the Union del Rio, where the
Don Diego meets the Caribbean Sea. Here you
will be offered some of the local fruits and enjoy
bathing until the boat arrives to collect you and
transfer you back to the starting point. Once you’ve
returned to the hotel, the rest of the day is yours.
DAY 3 - JUNE 18th: TAYRONA NATIONAL PARK
Today you will visit the oasis of Cabo San Juan del
Guia, one of Colombia’s finest beaches. After an
early pick up at your hotel, you will enjoy a lesiurely one-hour ecological tour from Canaveral to the
sector of Arrecifes. This is a beautiful spot to enjoy the
scenery and take some photographs. You will then
walk through a mixed area of beaches and tropical
rainforest, passing the beaches of Arenillas and La
Piscina before reaching Cabo San Juan del Guia.
Here you will have free time and lunch before the 1hr
40min ecological hike back to the start point. From
there, you will return to the hotel by vehicle, and
enjoy your final evening.
DAY 4 - JUNE 19th: RETURN TO THE UK
You will enjoy your final morning waking up inside
the national park before transferring to Santa Marta.
Afer breakfast you are free to continue on your own
itinerary.
