You may have seen the news coming from Guatemala that the Fuego volcano has erupted in the last few days. 

As with all our challenges, the safety of our participants is paramount, and it is Choose a Challenge policy to follow the advice of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office as well as the guidance of our in-country ground suppliers to take measures that ensure that our challenges are conducted safely, and without causing further disruption or difficulty to local people already affected by this incident.

Please be assured that we are in regular contact with our staff in-country and do not currently believe that the itinerary for our Guatemala trek departing 28th August 2018 (12 weeks from now) will be affected. However, as a contingency we are also exploring alternative trekking routes that we can take if it is deemed necessary.

We will continue to monitor the situation very closely in the coming days and weeks, and if there is any change to the above, all participants will be notified as a matter of urgency.
