Introducing our 2019 partners: MRF
Over the next 2 weeks, we're going to be introducing our charity partners for 2019! You'll be able to fundraise for any of these charities if you're taking part one of our 2019 trekking or marathon challenges.
We're really happy to announce that we're partnering with Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) once again this year!
We've had several hugely successful years in partnership with MRF in the past, sending students out to Tanzania, Nepal and our European Marathons with them.
We're hugely stoked to be continuing this incredible partnership into 2019.
Meningitis is the swelling of the meninges, which is the lining around the brain and spinal cord, caused mainly by germs entering the body. Septicaemia is blood poisoning caused by the same germs that can cause meningitis
MRF want a world that promises more for people and families at risk of meningitis and septicaemia, and for those already living with the after effects of the disease.
Since the charity was founded in 1989, MRF have awarded 161 research grants. The total value of their investment in vital scientific research is over £19.1 million.
Meet your charity reps!
Lauren, Imi, Jenny and Andy form the very fabulous student fundraising team over at MRF, who will be supporting you throughout your challenge. All told, the team have over 20 years of fundraising experience between them.
They've also taken on plenty of challenges in their time, including the Machu Picchu, Morocco High Atlas, Three Peaks and Kilimanjaro challenges - and Andy is taking on Everest Base Camp with us this Summer!
We're really excited to have Meningitis Research Foundation on board as a charity partner, and we hope you'll consider supporting them by joining a challenge in 2019!
